  1. From the EndNote Web toolbar, click on the Format Bibliography icon.
  2. Click on the Layout Tab
  3. In the top two boxes, choose the font and size you have formatted your main document with.

Post–nominals (e.g. Jnr)

If you have an author with a post nominal e.g. Jnr., you will need to add an extra comma after the intial in the author field to make sure your reference formats correctly in your final bibliography

So, your entry in the Author field of your EndNote Web account should read:

Bloggs, F., Jnr

or

Bloggs, Fred, Jnr

Word's Track Changes feature and EndNote Web

Be careful if you use Word’s Track Changes feature with an EndNote web formatted document, as it can cause problems. If you do need to use Track Changes, make sure you turn it off again before you make any changes to your citations/references.

Changing your references into temporary citations

  1. Click on the Unformat Citation(s) option (the curved arrow in a square)
  2. The references should now be displayed in the following format {author name, year} with no reference list at the end of the document.

  1. Click on the Format Bibliography button (the one with 1. 2. 3. written on it)
  2. Choose the reference style you want to use (e.g. Harvard) and click OK.

This will just affect the current document, not any document you use with EndNote Web.

  1. Click on the Format Bibliography icon in EndNote Web (the icon labelled 1. 2. 3.)
  2. Click on the Instant Formatting tab.
