Clearing the stored information in your web browser

Very often, if you get an error message, or are unable to log to your EndNote Web account, this is because your computer has stored an old version of the webpage you are trying to look at, and is using that instead of the latest version.

The way to solve this problem is often just to clear the cache (stored pages) in your web browser. Here's how to do it for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome

Internet Explorer Users:

  1. Click on the Tools option in the menu bar at the top of the Internet Explorer screen.
  2. Click on Internet Options.
  3. Click on the Delete Cookies button and wait for it to finish.
  4. Click on the Delete Files button and wait for it to finish.
  5. Click on OK.

Firefox Users:

  1. Click on the Tools option in the menu bar at the top of the Firefox screen.
  2. Click on Clear Private Data.
  3. Click on the Clear Private Data button and wait for it to finish.

Google Chrome Users:

  1. Click on the Spanner button (Customise and control Google Chrome) in the top right hand corner of the screen.
  2. Click on Clear browsing data
  3. Tick all the boxes and click the Clear Browsing Data button.

Is Word 2007 compatible with EndNote Web?

The short answer is Yes - Word 2007 is compatible with EndNote Web. You may find it comes up with a few error messages, but if you click OK in response to these, EndNote Web will work perfectly.

Because of the way the new version of Word works, you no longer have the EndNote Web Toolbar. Instead, you have an extra tab called EndNote Web, which gives you access to all the functions which used to be on the toolbar.

      EndNote Web, LaTeX and BibTeX

A number of people have asked whether EndNote Web is compatible with LaTeX and BibTeX. The answer is yes, and you will find some very helpful guides here

Note: The guides on these pages refere to the full EndNote Desktop version of the software, rather than specifically to EndNote Web. However, much of the advice can still be used in EndNote Web.
