Business Source Premier: importing records
If you want to save references in Business Source Premier, you need to make sure you save them in the correct format, otherwise, you won't be able to import them into your EndNote account. There are two methods to try. If the first method doesn't work, try the second! Here's how to do it.
Note: when you save the references, it is a good idea to make sure that the Remove these items from folder after saving box in unticked. This means that if the references are not imported, for whatever reason, you can quickly go back and try again as the references will still be there.
Method 1.
- Mark the references by clicking Add next to the ones you want to keep.
- Click Folder in the top right hand corner to view the saved references.
- Select the items you wish to save by ticking them (or click All) to save them all.
- Click Export.
- Under Save citations to a file formatted for: select Direct Export to Endnote Web.
- Click Save.
- You will be taken to your Endnote Web account and should see confirmation that the selected referencs have been imported.
- Click on My References and then Unfiled.
- Select the references and click on Add to Group to move them to your preferred group.
Method 2.

EndNote Web and ISI Web of Knowledge
A quick tip: If you have previously created a personal account for the ISI Web of Knowledge database, this will automatically register you to use EndNote Web. There's no need to set up a separate account - just log in to EndNote Web using the same username and password and your account will be ready to use!November 06, 2007
Pop–up windows and EndNote Web
Some features of EndNote web require the use of pop-ups to work properly. If you have a pop-up blocker installed on your computer, you may find these don't work properly and you will need to enable popups. Here's how to do this using either the Firefox or Internet Explorer browsers
Firefox users
- Click on the Tools menu and select Options.
- Click the Content icon.
- Untick the option Block pop-up windows.
- Click OK.
Internet Explorer users
- Click on the Tools menu.
- Select Pop-up Blocker.
- Select Turn off Pop-up Blocker.
For security reasons, you are strongly advised to turn your pop-up blocker back on once you have finished using EndNote Web.
