Importing references from Google Scholar

If you use Google Scholar as part of your research, it is possible to import references into your EndNote Web account, although this has to be done separately for each individual reference you want to keep.

Setting up Google Scholar for EndNote Web

Before you can save references from Google Scholar, you need to do the following:

1. Go to Google Scholar.
2. Click on Scholar Preferences (to the right of the Search box).
3. In the Bibliography Manager section at the bottom of the screen, select EndNote from the drop down menu labelled Show links to import citations into.
4. Click the Save Preferences button.

You should not need to do this process each time you want to save references from Google Scholar.

Saving references in Google Scholar

1. Do your search as normal.
2. Beneath the information for the item, click the link Import to EndNote.
3. Save the file as normal. Make sure the File Type is set to EndNote Import File.

Importing references into EndNote Web

1. Log-in to your EndNote Web account.
2. Click on the Collect tab.
3. Click the Import References link.
4. From the Filter drop-down menu, select EndNote Import.
5. From the To drop-down menu, select the group that ypu want to send  the reference to.
6. Click the Import button. Your reference will be added to your EndNote Web account.
