Safety First
Now here is something that has bothered me for sometime and a problem I raised at school
Emergency Exit signs, the person to my left is quite blatantly fleeing at some pace, which is completely against the rules of evacuation.
If we are indeed meant to follow the signs along with the idea that levels of safety are increased when people are calm and operating in an orderly fashion, exit signs should resemble the person to my right.
The improve sign shows a person (possibly with back problems, so oldies can relate to the image) calmly opening a door. Obviously going at a steady speed would have allowed this sensible person to place their hand on the door (to check for heat, something the speedy person it not able to do).
Reducing the speed of the image would increase the amount of people being saved by other would be victims as they would all be in a more rational state, so not endangering our Emergency Service workers (thusly saving tax payers money on widows pensions etc)
Hopefully the introduction of this new sign will encourage further alterations to emergency exit signs, for example:
-signs showing where little people could escape
-signs showing where fat people can’t escape
-signs showing where people with vertigo shouldn’t go
