In my previous degree, the information was conveyed mainly by lectures and the occasional tutorial session. I mainly learnt in a "surface" way in the first two years and probably was guilty of trying to learn things off my heart rather than fully understanding things.
In my third year, my learning style somewhat changed. With individual dissertations, I tried to develop a way of thinking more laterally and deeply about my subjects. This was made easier by a very helpful tutor who encouarged me to think in a different way. I also began studying and revising with friends which helped a great deal as we could pool our resources and use each other's strengths.
After yesterday's sessions on learning, I have realised that I will probably need to work quite hard at developing my learning styles further on this course.
