I was sitting at my desk yesterday, quietly doing some work and a random thought popped into my head. I suddenly remembered a great book that I used to have as a child….
Does anybody else remember Mucky Mabel? I can remember the words of the first couple of pages but I get stuck after that…
"This is the tale of Mucky Mabel, who had no manners at the table, who blew her nose on the serviette and made the table cloth all wet. She spat the grissle from her meat so far it travelled twenty feet…..."
Sounds a bit random now, but it was great at the time!

Did anybody else think that Mambo Number 5 was a strange choice of song for yesterdays cricket highlights on Channel 4??
After the live coverage of the match and the presentation ceremony yesterday evening….they played Mambo Number 5 as the soundtrack to the best-bits!!
I can't think of a more suitable song off the top of my head….but I definitely wouldn't have chosen that!! Any better suggestions?

15 weeks today I will be on a plane to New York!! Woo hoo.
I have never been before and am very excited!! Does anybody have any tips on where I should visit??
I already have some good ideas but just the usual tourist spots – Empire State building, ice skating in Central Park, watching a show on Broadway (Lion King I think)...
I am going on Boxing Day and arriving home on 2nd December so will be spending New Year in Times Square – very exciting….even though it is still 15 weeks away.
Any tips on where to visit or what things I should take with me (that I might not have thought of yet..) would be welcomed….

We won the staff quiz!!.....well, actually, we didn't win the quiz….but we should have won. Well done to Helen, Tracy, Nathan, Simon, Richard and myself of course!
Chimpanzees are apes and I can sneeze with my eyes open!
Well done to the real winners – see, i'm not a bad loser! And well done to Casey for organising a great night out!

The other strange thing was that when I arrived at the reservoir I was already surprised to see at least 200 seagulls on the water (this is just a guess – I never counted them) – and this makes 358ish altogether!!
358 seagulls!! I think thats impressive – and we don't even have any sea in Birmingham! Strange but true!
