Who made that decision….??
Did anybody else think that Mambo Number 5 was a strange choice of song for yesterdays cricket highlights on Channel 4??
After the live coverage of the match and the presentation ceremony yesterday evening….they played Mambo Number 5 as the soundtrack to the best-bits!!
I can't think of a more suitable song off the top of my head….but I definitely wouldn't have chosen that!! Any better suggestions?

[Skip to the latest comment]The reason, I think, is that it's the theme tune they've been using for their coverage.

And was I the only one sick to death of hearing it after watching the cricket?

Well, I think it was a ridiculous theme tune….
On the highlights last night (the re-cap of the days coverage) they used the Embrace tune 'Ashes' which was a much better choice!

It seems to be used in any cricket tournament as it goes well with images of people hitting loads of fours and sixes. I have seen in used in the Sharjah Cup and World Cup.

Now, I did think that could have been part of the reason…but what about the lyrics: 'Angela, Pamela, Tina and Rita' or whatever their names area….what does that go with?

Well 5 is the average of 4 and 6… coincidence? Yeah right!

Overall, probably a better choice than Feeling hot, hot, hot…

You can score five if you hit a discarded helmet in the field.
This has happened.

Or if there's an overthrow (or a fielding team deliberately kicks the ball over the boundary) when the batsmen have already crossed, you can score five. If the batsmen have already crossed 3 times, you score 7.

This is beginning to sound like Mornington Crescent…
