Ticket touts make me sooooo angry

Grrr – tickets for The Killers in Wolverhampton went on sale this morning…

The Killers

A mate of mine went to the Civic at 8am and queued to get some for us. His brother was also at home trying to get some online – and neither of them managed to get any.

I look on Ebay this afternoon and there are already loads of people selling their tickets online! It makes me so angry!!

Why don’t the police just go and arrest them?!

All These Things That I’ve Done

When there’s nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
One more son
If you can hold on
If you can hold on, hold on
I wanna stand up, I wanna let go
You know, you know – no you don’t, you don’t
I wanna shine on in the hearts of men
I want a meaning from the back of my broken hand

Another head aches, another heart breaks
I am so much older than I can take
And my affection, well it comes and goes
I need direction to perfection, no no no no

Help me out
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don’t you put me on the blackburner
You know you got to help me out

And when there’s nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
These changes ain’t changing me
The cold-hearted boy I used to be

Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don’t you put me on the blackburner
You know you got to help me out
You’re gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you’re gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you’re gonna bring yourself down

I got soul, but I’m not a soldier
I got soul, but I’m not a soldier
...

Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don’t you put me on the blackburner
You know you got to help me out
You’re gonna bring yourself down
You’re gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, oh don’t you put me on the blackburner
Yeah, you’re gonna bring yourself down

Over and out, last call for sin
While everyone’s lost, the battle is won
With all these things that I’ve done
All these things that I’ve done
If you can hold on
If you can hold on

  1. Is it actually illegal? It might be against the terms and conditions of the ticket, but is selling an essentially unwanted ticket online an arrestable offence? (Don’t get me wrong, by the way – I agree).

Oh – well it doesn’t make me any less angry! And it should be illegal if it isn’t : (

  3. It’s not illegal but the government are holding a consultation to discuss whether it should be made illegal to sell on for more than the face value. I know some sections of the music press are pushing quite hard for this.

It is very annoying! How do these people sleep at night.

For the opposite (possibly) of a ticket tout, Scarlet Mist deals only in fair exchange of tickets for equal-or-less-than face value, and only if you didn’t buy them to sell on (eg you can’t attend). Sometimes a good place to find a spare ethical ticket.

Thanks Justin – I tried to sign the petition but it’s ‘currently being updated’

Nick – I will keep my eye on that site! Fingers crossed… thanks.

It’s worth taking a look at “www.stoptout.com”: http://stoptout.com/ a new website that aims to form a community of fans that can buy & sell their spare tickets at face value. It operates a loyalty points scheme that rewards the seller with ‘etix’. Buyer then bid their ‘etix’ and the member who bids the most ‘etix’ get to buy the tickets at face value. The etix then get transfered over to the sellers account giving them more bidding power when they are looking for that elousive ticket. They’ve got tickets for the london shows of We are Scientists, The Automatic and Boy Kill Boy and well as Keane Reading and The Raconteurs Manchester so maybe some Killers tickets will surface soon!
