September 07, 2005

Last night I took an early evening walk around a pretty reservoir in Shustoke (nr Coleshill). It was particularly pretty because of the bright orange sunset – but I noticed a strange thing during my walk…..158 seagulls arrived at the reservoir and landed on the water. 158!! I know there were this many because I counted them (sad I know – but also impressive (I thought)). And they were all coming from the East….I wonder where they had been?
The other strange thing was that when I arrived at the reservoir I was already surprised to see at least 200 seagulls on the water (this is just a guess – I never counted them) – and this makes 358ish altogether!!
358 seagulls!! I think thats impressive – and we don't even have any sea in Birmingham! Strange but true!
