Science Fiction

I love it! I think that it's the bee's knees.

But what I have noticed is that there is a sizeable amount of people who more or less hate the whole genre. Several of my friends here at uni. seem to have allergic reaction whenever I mention anything Sci-Fi and automatically dislike something just because it fits into that genre.

Sure, I knew people who weren't fans before I came here, but they at least thought Lord Of The Rings (yes, i'm including fantasy) was OK, or maybe the 1st matrix. But i'm just amazed how some people can have such negative opinions about ALL of it. My conclusion is that they must be evil to think such a thing.

I can't really say why I like it, but I certainly do like it. Personally I'm currently enjoying the final few episodes of Enterprise (the last two seasons have seem big improvements), waiting for the 9th season of SG1 and just getting into the new Battlestar Galactica which is great. I should be going to see Star Wars later, hopefully it will be better that the other 2 prequels. I'm not a massive fan of Star Wars, but i'm looking forward to it.

  1. yes, science fiction is one of those things that stays with you i think. for example, i've been watching anime for a few years now and recently someone pointed out that i pretty much only watch the sci-fi genre of it. its as if i subconciousley chose them, my inner sci-fi need.
the allergic reaction thing too, when i tell people i study electronics at uni: sometimes its almost as if people want to spit upon you they're so disgusted.

    Hello followers.

I too love the scifi genre, but I do dislike sg1, I think the poor acting might be something to do wit it.

    HAIL! Star Wars.

I extremely enjoy 4,5,6, 1 and 2 were very bad, but 3 holds some hope, it certainly is better than 1 and 2. I have yet to see it on the big screen because I downloaded it, naughty scumdog.

A lot has been cut from 3, a whole lot, but I expect it will be all on the dvd.

Event Horizon is a good scifi film.

  6. GwarScumdog is the owner of the blog in my favourites called "Break on Through". The sound isn't on there anyway i'm afraid.

I thought Episode 3 was good, certainly better than the other two. It's worth going to see.

I LOVE SCI FI, you know this of course. The new battlestar galactica is amzing as is SG-1 and Atlantis. The new star wars film is an improvement on the other two but it still doesn't compare to the originals.
