My life…

…gets weirder every single day.

How Am I Not Dead?

I don't know where I slept last night. I don't remember waking up.
All I know is that it was on an island that I don't live on and was quite possibly outside.
This worries me slightly.

No words…

..can describe my disgust.

My (albeit Canadian) roommate just let me know that he thought Mick Jagger was in The Beatles.

Being North American is no excuse, although does offer some explanation.

Last night (this morning) I went to bed at 1.30am and commented on how it was nice to get an early night.

I am now officially a Hong Konger.

Theres goes the last marble

Ive gone insane.
I keep thinking there are hidden cameras in the room with me.
I act to these cameras when stupid people are being stupid around me and expect all the people who are secretly watching to be agreeing with me. But the only problem is that THERES NO ONE THERE!!!!!
I might stop trying to be normal and embrace insanity, it could be fun.

Damn my human nature

One of my roommates has recently told me that he has a boyfriend, which did surprise me but it really doesn't bother me in the slightest. But i'm now finding that im being really self-conscious about everything I do, and really hate the feeling. I hate the fact that i'm analysing everything I say in case it might be offensive and am not being myself, and I know it's my problem but can't seem to sort it out. The same thing happened last year when someone I know told me they thought I didn't like them. This couldn't have been further from the truth but after they said that to me I couldn't help but feel I was acting differently around the person just to reinforce the fact that I did in fact like them. This is what i'm doing here, i'm not homophobic and am happy for my roommate but I am acting differently. I don't know whether to make sure he knows i'm ok with it by constantly saying so, or just to try to carry on as normal. Instead I find myself in between the two by carrying on in a slightly different way, which really annoys me and is probably noticed by him.
I guess it'll all settle down after a while and things will get back into a standard norm, but until then i'm going to really try just to get on with things and be myself, which I guess includes finishing this blog because writing about things just isn't me either!

A polite request

Please leave me a comment. I miss them and noone actually knows my blog exists. It'll make an old (21) man happy. I have also given up drinking and think I may have gone insane.

Sufjan Stevens

I am doing a very bad job of blogging, I am very lazy. But I feel compelled to provide myself an outlet for my praise of the master that is Mr Sufjan Stevens.
Most people will not have heard of him, thats a shame for them. His music is exceptionally hard to describe, but well worth listening to.
My friend thinks its cult music, but only based on the titles of the songs (the highlight surely being 'The Black Hawk War, or, How to Demolish an Entire Civilization and Still Feel Good About Yourself in the Morning, or, We Apologize for the Inconvenience but You're Going to Have to Leave Now, or, "I have fought the Big Knives and will continue to fight them until they are off our lands!"' – that's just one song title, not lots of them).
So yeah, it's slightly odd, and may take a few listens to understand what you're actually listening to, but when it clicks it's closer to perfection than most musicians can dream of.
Stevens is currently undertaking a frankly ridiculous project of making an album for all 50 states in the US, of which he has currently covered Michigan and Illinios. And he's not making it easy on himself either. Illinois, the lastest album, has 22 tracks on it, so it's fair to say he's got a while to go. But if the standard stays the same, I can easily see my CD collection increasing by another 48.

Shit Happens

It's not been the best few days. I finished exams on Saturday but instead of relaxing and not caring about anything its all gone rather wrong.
Going home on Saturday after last exam, my minibus crashes whilst im getting on it. Luckily, my cat like reflexes prevent me from crashing through the windscreen. Go out on Saturday night. Am sick in taxi on way home and then sick in my bed, which I only know because I woke up sleeping in it the next morning.
Sunday, get pains in stomach, realise I cant move. Try to go to hospital on my own, before collapsing in the corridor. Hallmate takes me instead.
Better now though. Still feel weak though and i'm bored because everyone else still has exams and there is nothing to do in hall.
On a plus note, I got my first ever comment for my blog. How lovely.
