3. You don't have to close it. You could just let it lie fallow for a bit and then pick it back up when you do have more time.

   Also, there are different ways of blogging, and different uses for blogs – you might find a different style of blogging than your diary format…

4. Mum

   This was almost inevitable – life was going to take over at some point. It has been a privilege to have a window into your first weeks away and it has eased the empty nest feelings. Hopefully, it has helped you too as you've made your first steps away.

   Now its time to move on, for us all. Maybe you'll write more some day; maybe not. You've proved that you're a natural-born diarist capable of astute and entertaining observations. That's got to mean something.

   So, goodbye to the blog, and hello to intermittent phone calls. Talk to you soon.
