Bookmarklet

Decided to make a "bookmarklet" to make it easy to blog pages.

javascript:top.location="http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/blogbuilder/admin/create/plainEntry.spr?blog=BLOGID&newPermissions=Anyone&newCommentPermissions=Anyone&relatedUrl="+escape(document.URL)

If you want to use it:

  1. Go to create a new entry in your blog
  2. Add it as a favourite and set the title you want
  3. Right-click it, click Properties
  4. Replace the link URL with my link above, but replace BLOGID with the one from your link (the cryptic admin one, not the one like 'davidmiller')
  5. Press OK to save
  6. To use just browse to a web page and click the URL… it's automatically entered into the Related Web Page box!

I (still) use IE - adjust for your browser!

  2. Hadn’t seen that before – didn’t bother searching. Can’t open in a new window in IE (under XP SP2) anyway!

I’ve only ever used the library once, because I was forced to {Insert bitter memories of CS119} but thanks for the link.
