I am a third-year PhD student in the Department of French Studies at the University of Warwick. My doctoral project looks at how the Vichy regime (1940-1944) appropriated Republican symbolism, like the tricolore and the Marseillaise in its audiovisual propaganda. My research involves watching lots of newsreel and documentary footage and digging around the Archives Nationales in Paris!
