Isn't local news great? Whenever I come home for the holidays I'm always reminded how much better Gordon Burns is than any of the Midlands Today people. And at lunchtime you get to play the Gordon Burns weather game, which is where the first letters of the place names on the local weather map spell out a word. Today's word was eclipse.

Wireless!

My parents have got a new computer this term, as their old one was too old, and as the new one uses a different kind of wireless card to the old one, I have inherited the wireless card from their old computer. So this is David Kelly, coming to you on wireless. Woo!

Bramhall

Writing about web page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bramhall

Just randomly surfing the net because I'm bored and don't want to do any work, I came across the Wikipedia article for the village I live in at home, and I discovered the phrase:

"Currently the village centre is subject to a virulent strain of trendy wine bars, as soon as one dies (and they all surely do within 18 months) 3 more spring into life, propelled to mediocrity by the pretensions of their Porsche Boxster driving owners. The embodiment of style over sense and substance."

Looking through the history, I see that phrase was put in earlier this week. I wonder if it'll stay there long, or if all the visitors to the site who care about Bramhall (i.e. those of us who live there) have enough of a sense of humour to keep it there.
