Union's Policy on Blood?

Writing about web page http://www.sunion.warwick.ac.uk/portal/Default.asp?url=ARTICLE&article_id=305

I was quite interested to hear that the National Blood Service will be on Campus in the near future and that I would quite like to give blood.

However, if you read the above article, the Union appears to be telling us to be childish and write comments on the form or ask questions to the reception staff. As I said I think this is quite childish and comes in quite a long history of the Union telling us to do protest in some way that I don't think will help.

What does everyone else think on this?
The reception staff won't be able to change anything and I doubt anything written on the form will help. It just hassles the staff who are just trying to get some blood in order to save lives.
If you read the Union's policy it seems quite contradictory and the whole article itself seems incredibly patronising.

If it stops just one person donating blodd then it is very sad.
