A pain in the neck.. not quite
Not much thought going on,
I have a pain in my head today. It stated late Tuesday night, I woke yesterday and it was even worse, slept most of the day yesterday (until 3pm on and off). Woke today and it was worse than it was last night.
It’s not a run-of-the-mill-headache.
It’s not a tension headache, or a stress headache,
It’s not because of a cold, or nasal congestion.
It’s not the pain I sometimes get which compliments back or nerve pain either.
The top-middle of my head hurts, behind my eyes hurt.
My eye sockets feel numb, like I have been punched on the cheekbone (on both sides) but without the surface bruising to show for it.
Im teatotal, so it not alcohol and I’ve been drinking lots of water, so not de-hydration.
It’s taking nearly all of my concentration to continue working whilst this is going on (like trying to listen to a quiet conversation while a siren is blaring away next to me ear, only it not a noise that disrupting me). I’m trying not to snap at anyone, especially as this is not their fault.
odd.

[Skip to the latest comment]This is really interesting. I too have headaches like that. How many other people do, I wonder. I find strong coffee, Co-Codamol tablets and hot showers provide some relief.

Sounds like a migraine or a cluster head ache (which I’m told is the man version of a migraine). The pain behind the eye is a symptom of both of these and from personal experience I know they are nasty. Can’t recommend much more than what Charles has said, they are difficult to treat as each perons’s case is different. Just try painkillers and sleep it off.

Thanks Charles & Holly.
I’ve had a migraine before, cant comment on whether it was male or female one though. I would have to assume if your male it’s a male migraine and if your female it a female one.
It’s not like a migraine and pretty sure its not a cluster headache as I iv’e had those and the pain behind my eyes is different this time to any other. Sleeping seems to be making it feel worse…

Does the pain get worse if you clench your teeth together? Could be a sinus infection if so. You can get blocked sinuses without necessarily having other cold/flu type symptoms.
