Petition seems to have made an impact :)
The Connect2 Kenilworth scheme, the joint project between Warwickshire County Council and Sustrans, is to be completed as planned, including the pedestrian and cycling bridge over the A429 Coventry Road.
Cllr John Whitehouse, chair of the Connect2 Kenilworth Steering Group, said:the recent mass petition to WCC demonstrated the strength of on-going public support.

At long last, Connect2 Kenilworth is nearing completion. Miletree Construction are currently completing the stretch from cryfield Grange Road to The Greenway. These works are likely to finsih around the end of August. Plenty of promotional activity planned for the Autumn. Any ideas gratefully received.

Woooohooooo! It’s open :-D Did a test ride in from Abbey Fields, Kenilworth this morning :)
The gravel section from Cryfield Grange Road to Cryfield Pavilion really needs to bed down a bit but at least someone has kindly put up a sign at Cryfield Grange Road crossing to warn of hazard. I’m sure it will be fine once it gets a bit of use!

Calling all cyclists .. watch out for details relating to the C2K Grand Opening at lunchtime on Friday 26th October. Please put the date in your diaries. All are welcome to attend and enjoy a mass ride to the new portrait bench on the southern tip of University land. Further details will be posted on insite early in the new term.

Just a warning to add to Catherine’s remark about the gravel section near Cryfield Pavilion: there is a patch of very loose
gravel at the junction of the path from the pavilion to the main cycle path. I had quite a nasty accident there 4 weeks
ago 11 Jan. which required hospital attention. I have reported the hazard to the University to Health and Safety on 15th Jan and also logged an incident report ID: 101676200. The hazard is still there so beware!
