Hurrah for immune systems (at last)

Well I hope I'm not pre-empting things, but yesterday and today I've finally been feeling quite a bit better. I still have a bit of a cough, but apart from that I'm pretty much back to normal yay! I no longer even need to be wrapped in a duvet to stop shivering. Considering I first went down with illness last tuesday, which got progressively worse until by thursday I really shouldn't have gotten out of bed (but went to lectures anyway because I'm that sad), I guess it's about bloody time. Some important things I've learnt:

  • Benylin is absolutely useless.
  • Vicks is a miracle substance, as is Lemsip if you can stand taking it, but really has to be in hot drink and not capsule form.
  • You really can be sick enough to miss lectures once in your university career. Go on, give into your bed.
  • Sleep is a brilliant cure.

So, having gotten a couple of hours shut-eye before watching the Melbourne GP live (yes, I really did set my alarm for 2AM to wake up and watch Formula 1) and quite a few more afterwards, I appear to have come down with yet another dangerous and even more potentially degree-damaging illness – CBA syndrome (that's Can't Be Arsed). I have a 5,000 word report due in on friday which I have yet to even start researching for, and it's now gone 4:30 on Sunday. The thing is, it's a really interesting (to me) subject – piston aero engines. Seriously, that is like a dream essay title to me. And still I can't be bothered – I'm just sat here blogging and whiling away hours playing TA. Hmmmm. Anybody got a cure?

Should I stay or should I go (da nah nah nah nah nah nah nah)

Writing about an entry you don't have permission to view

Can you tell I'm bored today? Can you can you can you?

Trawling through the blogs, I found a survey I HAVEN'T taken yet!

You Belong in the UK

Blimey!

A little proper, a little saucy.

You're so witty and charming…

No one notices your curry breath

So apparently I'm in the right place – woot! Not that I was going anywhere anyway…

An entry on health

Usually, I don't get ill. I'm fairly sure the last time I got ill was when I had fresher's flu at the start of the first year, which is about 2 1/2 years ago. And that only lasted a week. I have a good immune system, healthy(ish) diet and even when I do catch something it rarely takes more than 3 days at the most for it to go away. However, I seem to have caught manflu from somewhere. I blame Chris. He's good for blaming and the last person I knew who was ill. So this is all your fault. I've had this wretched bleugh-ness since last tuesday now and it's getting beyond a joke. I've spent about £20 on cough mixture, vitamin tonic, lempsip, nasal spray…the list goes on. And still it bloody well persists, and I swear every day I wake up I feel worse than the day before. If this sounds all whiney then it really doesn't mean to, I'm not whiney – I'm exceptionally pissed off with my body. For crying out loud, it's a bit of manflu. Get rid of it already so I can get a (half) decent night's sleep where I can actually breathe, make it through a lecture without sounding like a bren gun and not ache as if I'm 90. I haven't even washed my car since sunday because I don't even feel up to that for crying out loud, and the poor thing is filthy.

Bloody hopeless body/immune system. Get on with it.
