Physicists are great

I love the wackiness of Physicists. I met with a friend of mine today who does maths and physics, and we ended up discussing his project, which is to get to a star 100 light years away and back in the span of a human lifetime. I shall now include some extracts from the conversation:

George: "We've optimised it down to 10,000 or 100,000 kilograms of fuel per kilogram of payload"
Me: "Is that including the rocket's mass?"
George: "The payload is the rocket"
Me: "So you need to confine 10 tons of antimatter in less than a kilo of rocket just to make a usable rocket?"
George: "... That's the least of our worries"
——
Me: "Surely automated lasers firing at manned rockets is pretty unsafe?"
George: "Well if the laser goes wrong, you destroy the rocket. If the antimatter rocket goes wrong, you destroy the solar system"
——
George: "I'm fairly sure we can optimise the the rocket to maybe 1,000 tonnes of antimatter fuel for the whole rocket"
Me: "So that won't destroy the solar system then?"
George: "Oh no… Probably just the Earth"

I have come to the conclusion that Formula Student by comparison is very dull and I want to go do his project instead… It sounds much more fun!

I know Kung Fu

Writing about Hell yeah! from Et tu, Bloge.

You scored as Neo, the "One". Neo is the computer hacker-turned-Messiah of the Matrix. He leads a small group of human rebels against the technology that controls them. Neo doubts his ability to lead but doesn't want to disappoint his friends. His goal is for a world where all men know the Truth and are free from the bonds of the Matrix.

Oh and some more I found:

You scored as Special Ops. Special ops. Your sneaky, tactful, and a loner. You prefer to do your jobs alone, working where you don't come into contact with people. But everyonce in a while you hit it big and are noticed and given fame. Your given the more sensitive problems. You get things done, and do what has to be done.

You scored as personality. Hopefully whoever you end up with will be attractive, but you choose your women based upon how funny they are and if you can talk to them on the phone for hours and feel like you only just started talking except that your hand is tired and your ear is sore from pressing the phone so close.
