Chuck Music Video: Everyday Superhero – Smashmouth

Writing about web page http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kma3JNSuIOA

Everyones favorite TV geek spy superhero Chuck, is returning to NBC on Monday September 29th for Season two of the brilliant action TV comedy series.

In expectation of the new series, here is the next in my series of Chuck fan music videos, this one set to the ace song “Everyday Superhero” by Smashmouth taken from their album, Summer Girl. A perfect song for the summer!

This is actually my first full length TV video that does not include dialogue. Usually I think dialogue is integral to these pieces, however with careful editing and a good track I really think this works!

If you like it, please leave rating/comments on the YouTube page. :)

Enjoy!

The Big Bang Theory: Movie Trailer

“The Big Bang Theory Movie Trailer”
A Big Bang Theory Music Video

-----—-

The Big Bang Theory returns on September 22nd for one of my most easily awaited seasons. To celebrate this fact I thought…. what if?

...what if “The Big Bang Theory” was not actually a comedy but a film thriller involving time travel?

What you are observing would be the result! Enjoy!

-----—-

2 Friends.
2 Colleagues.
They have the potential to change the world.
If only they trusted themselves.

When university friends Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) decide to collaborate on a new physics project they had no idea what they would discover.

Not only would they have to deal with time traveling monsters but they would have to face their biggest threat….themselves.

Betrayal. Theft. Blackmail. The Big Bang Theory.

Not coming to cinemas soon.

Top Chuck (Top Gear Title Sequence REMIX vs Chuck Credits)

Writing about web page http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4thcPGQfIY

Top Gear has always had one of my favourite title sequences for a television show. Punchy music mixed with simple yet stylish visuals is a winner in my book.

One Sunday I wondered if I could recreate the opening credits, using footage from the hit NBC show Chuck. (Another of my fav shows, also with great credits!)

How hard could it be….?

....turns out quite!

The following sequence was created in Final Cut Pro using motion, cropping and key-framing. I’ve always wanted to do a project that forced me to learn how to keyframe better…this was a good chance.

The Hofstadter–Penny Attraction

Writing about web page http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Y5QrtxqXK4

For fans of “The Big Bang Theory”, the latest of my fan vids. (clearly signaling post exams I have too much time on my hands!)

This is my first attempt at doing a “couple/romantic” video on Leonard/Penny’s developing relationship over the course of Season 1.

This is the first time I have made a video focusing on a television couple so feedback is always appreciated!

Whilst I usually hate choosing music tracks that are very “now” and in the public eye, the moment I heard the opening track “Life In Technicolor” by Coldplay, I knew it would be perfectly suited to this style of vid.

Enjoy!

Chuck (Mission: Impossible Opening Credits)

Chuck is one of my most recent discoveries and has quickly risen to become one of my all time favorite TV shows. When a “Nerd Herd” employee of the local Buy More has the only copy of all the government secrets embedded in his mind, 2 CIA/NSA agents are assigned to protect him as he goes about his daily life. The series follows their adventures as Chuck tries to live a normal life, whilst also going on secret missions every episode, you know to protect the world and all. Throw in the fact his handler, Sarah has to pose as his girlfriend and you also have a not so typical romance arc thrown in the picture.

All this sounds ludicrous, but put together is a highly entertaining mix of spy/action/comedy/romance.

Started on Monday nights on Virgin 1 last week and has been airing in the states last year. Its recently been picked up for a second series, can’t wait!

As a distraction from revision I created a montage of some of the best action/adventure clips from the show to none other than Mission Impossible. Enjoy!

Sugar Puffs crimping Mighty Boosh style

Writing about web page http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=eaB7Q-9uwp4

HM Foods, creators of the Sugar Puffs brand of cereal are launching their latest 3.2m publicity campaign fronted by everyones lovable friend, the Honey Monster. However this time the milk tastes sour in many viewers mouth due to what many have commented as “blatant plagiarism”.

The advert in question involves the Honey Monster sitting down with ‘a friend’ and singing a short song before tucking into a bowl of the aforementioned cereal. The problem is the song bears more than a passing resemblance to that of the Mighty Boosh’s “crimping” style.

For those of you not in the know, the term crimping was coined by the duo late in series 3 as a term for representing their distinctive short, random and bizzare raps usually associated with various mimes on topics such as soup and bouncy castles. Essentially they are quite distinctive and one is generally found in most episodes of the Boosh.

Compare and contrast:

Whilst clear to most people that there is a uncanny resemblance of the two, the question is can you legally own a singing style? I am curious as I am not sure what hope this would have in court, could I copyright techno?

I personally think its a fragrant stealing of ideas and if that is the direction they wanted to go in they should have hired Noel and Julian to write one for the advert as opposed to doing a much lesser job. The outcome of this battle will be an interesting one, purely for the copyright issues it shows up.

Hopefully the best outcome is that Sugar Puffs reputation will be tainted and they pull the advert due to all the negative publicity. Teach them right!

The Big Bang Theory – I am a Scientist

To celebrate the series being renewed and new episodes starting in America on the 17th March, I created this fan music video set to one of my favourite artists.

For those of you that haven’t managed to catch the show across the pond or on Channel 4 in the UK, it’s brilliantly fantastic and appeals to the inner geek in all of us. Some more than others…

From wiki..
“The series is about two socially inept prodigies in their 20s who are living across the hall from a beautiful girl with a questionable intellect. When one genius falls for the girl, the other tries to discourage his interest because he believes his friend is chasing a dream he’ll never catch”.

Generic concept yes…..funny? yes! Finally a show that doesn’t dare to bring WoW, Halo 3 and the Doppler Effect to primetime!

Geek Olympics Round 1 – Potathrow

Players:
4 (2 to throw and 2 to dodge)

Aim:
To dodge the potato

Equipment:
Fake Potato (For Extreme Potathrow use a real spud)
Corridor
Understanding or absent housemates

Method:
The 2 throwers stand at either end of the corridor.
The 2 dodgers run around like headless chickens in the middle, and try to dodge the potato that is being thrown by the throwers.
When you get hit, you must obey the following handicaps:
Hit 1 - 1 hand must touch a wall at all times
Hit 2 - 2 hands must touch the same wall at all times
Hit 3 - 1 hand must touch each wall at all times
Hit 4 - As hit 3, but 1 foot must also touch a wall at all times
Hit 5 - YOU LOSE!
Once there is a winner, the throwers and dodgers swap, so you end up with 2 contenders for the final
The game is repeated as a Grand Showdown, which is normally more violent, as the throwers remember one of the dodgers chucking a surprisingly hard potato at them.

Results:
ChrisPy vs Chris - ChrisPy won
Eddie vs JoJo - Eddie won

ChrisPy vs Eddie - ChrisPy won

Conclusions:
Fun game for all the family, apart from those with asthma, those under 5, and those with Potato-Phobia

Feeder are back!

Writing about web page http://www.feederweb.com/

Feeder are back!

After years of waiting for a new album, the gears finally seem to be turning and the first glimmer of what to expect from their seventh proper studio album has arrived in the form of a free downloadable track, Miss You!

Appears Feeder have gone back to their roots with a very upbeat rock sound after their last two albums have been accused of being too laid back.

Sounds like it could have come from the Yesterday Went Too Soon era. Once again, Feeder seem to be able to make each album have a slightly different sound, good skills!

Can’t wait to hear more and get a release date for the real thing!
