Pinot Noir night
Yesterday opened a bottle of Chilean Pinot Noir (Secano Estate Pinot Noir 2007, Leyda Valley) from £8.99 (i think) M&S. More of an exercise to compare it to last weeks £12 French Pinot Noir from Foster & Wainwrights.
It was nice, quite heavy though (14% abv). Only had two glasses and have a slight fuzzy head so far today.
'A generously fruity, beautifully smooth and aromatic Chilean red. It delivers plenty of soft, ripe cherry, strawberry and plum flavours and has an elegant, fresh finish ' M& S Website.
For me, i think I could (should) only drink two glasses at most in one sitting. Last weeks French effort was a lot softer (in a good way) with more more subtle hints of fruit - which I quite like. Overall not a bad drop, went well the pizza we had, but in places a bit brash.
