No one to hug

I have no one to hug, well its not quite that simple, I know quite a few people that should I ask them for a hug they would happily oblige. What I mean is I have no one to which I can just walk up and hug, without asking, and they'll just hug me back – no questions asked.

I really needed a hug-buddy a couple of weeks ago at Rainbows, I wasn't particularly depessed about anything in particular, I was just a little down and a hug would have done me the world of good. It was then that this entry was thought up, its just taken me nearly two weeks to get round to it, mainly because I think I am having another moment where I could just do with a hug.

Does anyone else have such a hug-buddy? Or is it something to only expect from a significant other? which I also happen to be lacking. I am in a very reflective mood, if it wasn't for the fact its cloudy I'd probably be out in the cold somewhere taking moonlit photos of solitary things like leaf-less trees.

  3. I randomly hug pretty much everyone I know from time to time. Sometimes they respond and other times they don't.

Still, it's got me a bit of a reputation and on several occasions people looking for a hug have come to me.

  4. I have a hug-buddy, I'm not sure if girls are more likely to have hug buddies or not though. Maybe, they're usually softer and squishier, so more likely to be hugged. Just walk up to people you know and hug them anyway. That'll break down the barriers and you can hug them all the time!

  5. True. In most cases, the reason why people will not hug back is because they don't expect to be in that situation. Presumably from your definition of hug-buddy it is someone you would hug often. Thus, there will have to be a first time. Alternatively, you could go to top b next week and just hug everyone in the entire building until someone hugs you back spontaneously.

  6. I used to leave off hugging people cos I got the impression it wasn't acceptable, then one day I thought "fuck it" and hugged everyone I wanted to hug, and I still do it, whether they like it or not. I am just a huggy person!

  8. Hey [Chris I think I know you- random to have stumbled across your blog.]
I have hug buddies- friends I'd feel comfortable hugging (and do hug) at any time. But maybe that is a male female divide thing? Or maybe just hug your close friends more, and they won't think twice about it. I'm sure most people don't find it weird when their friends need a hug, but sometimes I guess you have to voice it. Hugs are under-rated.
(And I like the term hug buddy. Though it does remind me of something I heard about "hug clubs" in America- where strangers all randomly engage in group hugs in a designated space. Which scares me.)

  10. I don't think I would turn down a stranger if they came up to me and hugged me. Hugging is fun.
