Spending money I don't have

I've been at it again, spending money I don't have, although in honesty I have to stop living to stop spending money I don't have.

Todays litte shopping spree was on Amazon, I started out just looking at course text but in the end didn't actually buy any due to extortionate prices and lack of availabilty so they'll have to wait, so what did i buy? I bought the following;

Brokeback Mountain
because its a gay themed book and it was recommended to me by Wes

The Full Monty
It's been ages since I've seen this film and from what I remember it's fairly good, although the main reason I bought it was because it's filmed in Sheffield, my lovely home city.

Being John Malkovich
I first watched this film in my first (first) year, I quite enjoyed it. The idea of being able to view the world through someone else's eyes is quite intriguing. Part of me wishes I'd done Psychology or Philosophy but my inability to express myself would have let me down. Anyway this film will make a great addition to my collection.

Pay it Forward
This is one of my favourite films of all time and I really can't believe its taken me so long to get round to actually buying it, I will definitely get round to giving it a proper review on my blog when i've watched it again. Such a beautifully simple idea, just a shame it would never work in today's society.

Little Britain - Series 1 DVD
Only recently been introduced to this beauty of British comedy, it's really quite funny and more then worthy of a position on my rapidly growing DVD shelf, highly recomend it to everyone that has a sense of humour!

The Futurama Box Set
This is the entire collection of Futurama in one box, all 5 seasons (or 4 depending how you look at it). This is propably my most favourite animated comedy, it even ranks in above The Simpsons. It really appeals to my sci-fi loving side and have been meaning to buy them for months now as I've watched them all in rubbish quality on my pc a few times, it was definitely time for DVD quality!

The Broken Hearts Club - A Romantic Comedy
Another recommendation by Wes, yet again another gay themed film. Anyone see a pattern yet? I do like gay themed films, they are much easier to relate to, just hope it's worth buying!

I have also bought three more books that were recommended by a friend from home; Boy Culture, Blind Items - A love Story and A boy's own story. As you may have guessed these are all gay themed too, but hopefully they should be a gripping read and have been highly recommended.

Other then these recent purchases I have a few other books to read with I have recently borrowed, need to borrow or need to buy. These are The Hitch-hikers guide to the galaxy triology of 5 which I need to borrow from Jon (i've already read the first four I think though), The Elegant Universe which is a factual Physics book about string theory which i've just borrowed from Tom and the book thats behind Donnie Darko as recommended by James which I will probably have to buy so that I understand the film (which is good).

So all in all I have a hell of alot of things to keep me occupied for now; Uni, the gym, books, dvds, working at Asda and most importantly updating my blog by writing lots of reviews of all the new books, dvds and maybe even some of my current dvds.

War would be cool!

Before anyone starts I know a war wouldn't be cool and don't wish it upon us or anyone else. The reason I say it would be cool is purely because of the loud bangs, flashes and explosions. This all stems from bonfire night and fireworks happening around me, I just love seeing the sky lit up, hearing the various bangs and wizzes and seeing the odd explosion.

I like things that are powerful or extreme; Winter, closely followed by autumn, is by far my favourite season, I love the freezing temperatures, the frosty mornings, the beautifully clear night skys and most of all I love snow! Even now, at the age of 20, snow gets me really excited and I feel really child-like. I don't think I'll ever stop liking snow and if I ever do travel anywhere it will definitely be somewhere with a cold, snowy, climate.

I've made it my mission to take a load of snow scene pictures this year, my main target will be a snow covered university preferably after term has finished when there's not many people around to spoil the idealistic views.

The autumn is also a good season because of it's strong winds, it's lovely autumnal colours, the long twilight period and the light autumn showers. I just love walking across campus just as it's going dark when it's a bit windy. I also have a craving to go out for walks at night in light refreshing rain although very rarely do as I don't like the idea of wandering around alone (more of a safety issue than a lonelyness thing).

Well that's a small insight into my phyche for you, you are now probably thinking I'm absolutely crazy as I like fire, explosions and cold, horrible (matter of opinion), weather but to be perfectly honest I really don't care if that is what you think. I'm me, I'm not hurting anyone and I'm happy!
