I went home these past few days as it was my little brothers birthday, and much cider and beer drinking was needed as a result.
Whilst not drinking or eating I sorted through some old school books and paper from primary school, and I found that almost every planned story I wrote involved either witches or shrinking, or in one particualarly creative occasion I combined the two.
Speaking to friends it seemed that shrinking was the subject of some of their stories too, or meeting a dog.
I just wondered wether there was some popular book around at the time that inspired the creative talents of a young generation?
The witch influence definitely came from books. The Colin and Jackie Hawkins books in particular. I loved them. Monsters, Witches, Vampires and Pirates. And I always felt safe on the family visit to Irealnd because according to the Vampires book, the Irish Vampires didn’t drink blood, but ate shamrock.

I’m going to put up some pictures of my trip to Galway. I was away for a few weeks, a few weeks ago. And it was fun.
The first week the weather was fantastic and completely the opposite of the weather forecast, but then the second week Carraroe was covered by cloud, lashed with rain and received winds from the tail end of hurricane George, as crazy TV3 weatherman had said it would be. It was still nice to be there though.
On one of our coastal walks we met these two:
Hopefully will make it there next year too.
Tóg go bog é!

I find out tomorrow if I get VIVA–ed or not. If I do then my degree will be over tomorrow. No more work at Warwick. If not then I finished almost two weeks ago. Woot!
…either way I didn't bother my arse enough to care for the past three years. So…yes.
From 3 years I can say:
I like the environmental side of biology.
I like the health–related topics of biology.
Ilike big biology. Big systems.
I don't like genes… which has sort of been fundamental to the past three years, and is essential to almost all biological systems. Oh well.
I like learning.
I like finding out things and passing on that information to other people.
I like outdoor biology.
I think I should have done a different course. An environmental–health course perhaps…

Once again I was the downpour.
Once again my jeans were stuck to my skin and my waterproof coat stopped being waterproof.
Once again I found it hilarious, and just went about laughing and smiling to myself.
Roll on two weeks when the celebrations can begin, and 10,000 words will be bound, neatly in a nice little mark inducing package… hopefully!

As a method of procrastination I have decided to scan in some lecture doodles… oh and make some more tea!

Today was good, though I've done no work… ah well.
Brother and Sister were still here today. Brother's 21st present from Parents was a good guitar of his own. And today he chose it! We went to Regent guitars in Leamington, which is full of helpful people who know what they are talking about. I think we were there for just under 2 hours, and the "acoustic specialist" was very, very patient and helpful.
He explained the various models, and what was their best features, which ones sold most and why, he played them and explained about the different sounds you could get and how it varied between guitars and why, talking about woods, size etc. Basically, he was very informative, very willing too answer questions and very helpful. If you're looking for a good guitar shop… Regent Guitars is Leamington's… probably Warwickshire's…maybe even the Midlands…and so on and so forth.
But not only that, it was a nice shop to be in. It was very relaxed, and there were lots of lovely musicy sounds emmitting from different rooms.
Then we walked back, and found a bakery… Leamington seems limited in it's bakeries… unless they are all hidden away… Crewe has a much better selection of cakes/doughnuts/gingerbread men… Mmmm gingerbread men… but anyway we found it and I got a dough-based food.
Oh and then Ireland got the tripple crown… those last few minutes… good. Very good.

Went bowling last night… I'm so incredably bad at it.
I can't stop sneezing. I quite like the afterness of sneezing. But the sneezing comes with snotty nose and watery eyes.
Today is my last day of lectures. Just sort of blah.

I had an excellent holiday, and being in Leamington just adds weights of DOOOOOOM to shoulders. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
New Year was spent in Dublin with Lovely Boyfriend and his family, who are also all lovely. Happiness and optimisim a-plenty at midnight, got mildly drunk so as not to repeat previous years performance. Then we stayed up till the wee hours competeing on the playstation and getting progressivly more drunk, before heading to bed and waking up without a hangover …Oh yeah… If that is how the rest of the year is going to plan out then HOORAY! But I doubt it…
Was rushed at home, but whole family managed to sit down and enjoy a meal together before Little Brother and Da had to work and I had to get the crap back to Leamington. To our lovely mouldy house.
Thats right folks. Mould in the carpets, mould on the ceiling and mould on the walls. I'm pretty sure it's a Health Hazzard of biological weapon standing. We've been sporeulated. As the tiger says; "Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!

Well I've finally stopped moving… yesterday was such a rush! But the outcome of it is that I should have a job for Christmas… once they have established that I'm not a convict on the run.
Being home was great. Big Sis and Little Bro were there and we went walking round town…they are playing Christmas music in the shops allready… and Santa Baby came on and a funny impromtu dance routine resulted in the middle of Wilkinson! It was mad and hilarious and I spent the following minutes laughing.
My family are great!
