Nooo! Crazy Frog theme tune outselling Coldplay, Speed of Sound

Writing about web page http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/music/4576119.stm

This is serious people

The Crazy frog theme tune is outselling the Coldplay classic Speed of Sound.

This must be stopped,

How can the Beverly Hills theme tune (although it is reasonably good) with that most annoying crap Crazy Frog ringtone over the top beat Coldplay with their fantastic real music song.

I am calling on all people in the music industry to prevent Crazy Frog reaching number one by stop giving it so much exposure. Like Scot Mills discussing it for 5 minutes and subsequently playing it on his Radio 1 show today, Why!!!

It shouldn't even be allowed to be counted as 'music' and not included in anything deemed a music chart for starters

That ends my procrastinating rant

  1. On the plus side, maybe this (and Amarillo) will kill off the rip-off singles chart once and for all.

It's just for novelty and charity records now.

  2. Have to say it doesn't bother me… it's all about the music baby not chart positions!

We all should wish for the Sovietunion to reapear all over Europe, NO, the whole world. I agree with you totally, ban everything that people listen to, read and try to amuse themselves with.
Only "real things" would be allowed, only cars with no electronics, no music with artificial instruments including electric gitars or synths would be allowed.
We should have only one person elected by people who knows what real music is to decide for all of us, you maybe?
Why not put some music (garbage) producers in jail to give people a warning what to come.

Honestly, grow up! don't listen to the charts or bother about them, make or listen to whatever music that makes you happy and let all of us others to decide for ourselves. Please! I do know how to turn off the radio and so should you.
I'm old enough to remember how almost half of the world were surpressed by communist dictators. Don't want that back!! You are allowed to have your own opinion but don't try to force it upon anyone else. Let there be freedom of choice.
I do agree with you that crazy frog isn't very good music but he sure is amusing :)

  4. Well, it made it to number 1, another one hit wonder, Must admit though its a good radio bedding track, but can't imagine people actually bought a cd of it,

If anybody did let me know as I wonder what the B- side is if there is one. Probably mainly downloads that have caused this new one hit wonder and have to think that adding the donwloads have relagated the chart to one of those '50 greatest polls' done by channel 4 and taken away the honour and achievement of being number 1 when a ringotne can get the top spot

Found a ringtone site with a sense of humour – Ringtone Rooster which descrbes the latest frog song as "another cynical marketing ploy on behalf of Jamster to get you to part with your parentís hard earned cash." at least they are being honest! they are probably still selling hundreds of them though!
