I was browsing Flickr this morning and came across this album from reignfire. He seems to be a professional photographer that has an inclination for taking photos of his transformers collection. Really interesting stuff he has...

Writing about web page http://corp.aol.com/news/aol-acquire-social-media-network-bebo
AOL's decision to purchase social networking site Bebo, a UK based Facebook & MySpace rival for $850 million in cash was announced this morning. It has been the talk of the day and possibly the next few weeks in the tech webosphere.
While it is all well and good for AOL and the owners of Bebo, it does make me wonder about Facebook's supposed $15bn valuation.
Whilst Bebo's current $850m valuation and 40 million users makes each Bebo user worth a mere $21.
The disparity to me seems to be far too wide and makes me wonder if AOL got a deal of a life time or Facebook is far too over-valued.
Some might argue that Bebo’s user demographic is a younger bunch but does it justify a more than ten-fold price per user?
I know Facebook is quite an innovative company but don't assume Bebo is not equally as innovative, remember they pioneered innovations like the homebrewed drama - Kate Modern on their Open Media platform that has attracted over 25 million view; and don’t forget Bebo’s interactive online reality drama, “The Gap Year”.
So should Zuckerberg cash in quick? Or is it already to late?

Writing about web page http://www.forbes.com/lists/2008/10/billionaires08_Aliko-Dangote_64RI.html
His name is Aliko Dangote, and yes he is a born and breed Nigerian industrialist whose net worth according to Forbes is an estimated $3.3bn which stemmed from seed capital borrowed from his uncle.
And no, he is not a corrupted government official or former head of state; he is a pure capitalist business man that slowly built his empire over 25 years.
His name again.....Aliko Dangote
His empire includes the number one sugar production company in Nigeria & West Africa, a cement factory, refineries, real estate, petroleum distribution, agriculture and food production that includes a virtual monopoly on the production of pasta in Nigeria.
His was ranked #334 in Forbes World's Billionaires list.
I think the Dangote Group corporate website is in need of a major overhaul, and should consult me if they any help sorting them out ;)
Another black African billionaire...
Note that another black African by the name of Patrice Motsepe also made Forbe's list at #503 with an estimated net worth of $2.4bn. He is a self made South African Mining magnate and has a very impressive profile.

I love eco-friendly gadgets and this one ticks all the right boxes for me - a solar powered notebook concept by designer - Nikola Knezevic is absolutely awesome. It's slick design, detachable solar panel and the fact that it also comes packed with a GPS, internet access & a satellite phone makes it my fav
concept gadget so far for 2008.

Writing about web page http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2008/03/search-within-site-tale-of.html
Have you noticed Google's new search box feature? A mini-search box appears on search results of some large websites;
How it works...
When you search for a major website (not product) Google presents you with a mini search box as part of the result which according to Google:
increases their likelihood of finding the exact page they are looking for.
Although its been fully rolled out (on March 5th '08), some popular websites like Yahoo, Dixons & BBC don't seem to show up on search results. I however noticed academic & government sites like Warwick, Oxford, Transport for London & HMRC show up with the mini-search boxAccording to the official Google blog:
This feature will now occur when we detect a high probability that a user wants more refined search results within a specific site. Like the rest of our snippets, the sites that display the site search box are chosen algorithmically based on metrics that measure how useful the search box is to users.
