Excellent basses as always I see…..

Writing about web page http://www.4barsrest.com/articles/2006/art558a.asp

4barsrest have just published their Midlands Area review. I quote:

The surprise of the day though rested with the students from University of Warwick's Brass Society. We were simply aghast at finding out how low they'd been placed, having written comments such as "good bold opening phrase", "nicely controlled tempo which keeps moving well" and "lovely solid bass foundation that makes the band's sound so much better", 12th place seemed very harsh indeed. In fact looking through the notes again, it's hard to see a critical remark made on the day other than "a shade inconsistent".

Areas Photos

As usual I managed to take quite a few photos in Burton yesterday and I've uploaded some of them on to my blog for your viewing pleasure!

Coventry Beer Festival

Follow-up to Coventry Beer Festival from BrassSoc's Blog

This is an open invitation to all Brasssoc members and friends to join us at the Coventry Beer Festival, from 6pm on Friday 24th March.

As the No.12 bus doesn't get that close to the Butts Arena, I suggest we all meet outside the Royal Bengal (how's that for a landmark!) at 5:45pm to walk down together.

The festival usually does food (pies, etc.) and after the bar closes we will seek out curry, no doubt.

One for the quote book…

Writing about Real Ale from Nath's PhotoBlog

Sounds like the 'quintet' gave a good account of themselves then…anyone recall the word sensational ever being used in the same sentence as a description of Brasssoc before…?!
