The summer is rushing past so its getting to be time to think about next term.
We're looking to buy/borrow new music and so want your suggestions of things to play. Ideas are very welcome for:

  • Concert pieces
  • Testpieces for Leamington (2nd/3rd section)
  • Christmas items (Please do your duty to save us from 'Instant Christmas'...)
  • Pieces suitable for beginners band.

We'll be buying a selection before the start of term, but also if anyone can borrow good pieces from bands at home that's always appreciated.

  1. I've got an arrangement of "Uptown Girl" nearly finished and ready to send to you, if that's any use… :–D Think it'll probably fit into category 4 of the above.

  3. haha. if youre going to play vienna nights, why not consider getting out devil and the deep blue sea, essence of time, paganini, year of the dragon or maybe new jerusalem and hire out alan morrison to spank out that classic cornet part from the gods as he did at the albert hall. actually, a few classic marches might be a better start :-P

if anyone has a decent recording of O.R.B, the president or washington grays let me know cos i’ve only got them on C90 cassette and would love mp3 recordings
