Start of term rehearsals
Just to let people know that the Brass Society rehearsals start soon for the new year.
Brass band rehearses on wednesdays 5-7.30, normally in the ensemble room but this week in the Butterworth Hall. We welcome players of all abilities and can provide instruments from all sections for those who do not have their own. This is done on a first come first served basis. As usual we’ll be following rehearsal with drinks at the graduate. I hope to see players old and new on wednesday.
Symphonic Brass Ensemble is a 10-piece group comprised of trumpets, trombones, french horns, and tubas. They rehearse fridays 5-7:30pm beginning in week 3 in the ensemble room. Again we have instruments to offer people if necessary, and it’ll be followed by drinks in the bar.
New for this year we have Beginners Brass which is a group for anyone who wants to take up a brass instrument. No knowledge is necessary, and we’ll provide the music, instruments and tuition. This will take place on wednesdays 1:30-2:30 in the ensemble room, beginning in week 3.
All of our ensembles are active both socially and musically with many concerts on campus and in the local area, for details of our forthcoming concerts please see our website
