Let's caring the environment !

Basically, all organisations need to consume a number of factors in order to operate their businesses forward, which mainly based on their types of business. However, one of the most consumed factors is seemed to be an environment that surrounding around us such as atmosphere, plant or aqua. Due to numerous organisations are required to seriously comsume those factors to move their businesses, especially for the company that operates its business with factory or manufactory, namely, industrial organisations. Due to those kinds of elements are generated massive pollutions or contaminations out to the earth. Therefore, managing and caring them in order to reduce or remove from organisational process seems to be one of the best practices that all organisations should concern currently.

Therefore, in terms of asset management, there is one important practice which is called environmental management, which directly match to the EFQM Excellence Model to raise organisational standard as well. So, variety of practices in order to reduce pollutions, for instance, recycling some wastes to use them again if possible or minimising quantity of processes or productions that will affect environment, at least, not stop but gradually reduce them is also helpful in the long-term and for sure it is better than do nothing. Also, one of the obvious issue that caused by pollutions or contaminations from industry is global warming problem, which impacts our human being in the aspects of living all over the world. Hence, that is why all those suggested practices are vitally important. In addition, basically, it seems to be impossible that all those unnecessary practices will be totally removed or stopped whereas just slightly or gradually reduce them seems to be the best practice that all organisations can do.

Importantly, in practical, reducing wastes within the process of production through the methodology of reusing wastes (recycle practice) in the middle of processing practice within factory is one of the simple and tangible practices that all organisation can easily do. So, in my perspective, I think that all these practices are very important in accordance with our global's current situations in terms of environments because a number of existing and new organisations are aiming to emphasise on their amount of sales, so, surely, increasing in production line in order to produce their products to be on sale is automatically occurred within this situation whereas some of them are still not care the environment factor as much as they have to concern. Thus, seriously focused on this aspect is essential, which some countries are also concerned through the practice of creating campaign concerning the problems in order to educate and invite their working people to taking all these problems into consideration such as green project or environmental friendly campaign and so on.

The best practices in outsourcing !

A number of huge organisations who contain numerous people, teams, departments and for sure facilities in order to frive their businesses forward, so, effectively managing those elements to reach high-class outcomes is seemed to be the best practice for organisational success also. More importantly, due to there are plenty of components within organisation, hence, increasing in costs is automatically occurred in accordance with organisational components within internal factor. Therefore, trying to reduce those costs simultaneously with improving organisational facilities management in accordance with its objectives are the best practices in terms of facilities management genuinely.

So, outsourcing practice is the best way out for a company who aims to improve its capability in the aspects of facilities management together with reduce its unnecessary costs in accordance with facilities factor. In addition, an organisation will obtain more time in order to manage or arrange its another element or duty because outsourcing company can be fully handled the part of facilities. To be more specific, obtaining better outcomes will occur because technologically advanced knowledge that provided from expert within oursourced organisation as it seems to impossible that general organisation is consisted of those kinds of technologies, moreover, increasing flexibility in terms of workers in accordance with their capabilities, skills and abilities to perform their tasks. Additionally, there are also a number of advantages for outsourcing practice whereas mentioning at some significant parts is taking into account within this blog.

However, every coin contains both side, so, there are also some disadvantages concerning outsourcing also. Thus, ensuring that all common goals and agendas between outsource company and organisation is aiming at the same directions as well as make sure that outsource company is good enough in terms of its capability in order to achieve quality and availability for the work are the practices that client organisation has to taking into consideration. Otherwise, a number of drawbacks or negative impacts can be emerged within organisation in accordance with its poor facilities management that mainly caused by external environment, which is outsource company.

Lastly, this practice, outsourcing, can be applied into various ways, which is not only for facilities management in accordace with real-world business. So, in my opinion, I personally think that this practice is one of the most effective practices in order to raise organisational performance in the aspects that company does not familiar with, whereas, ensuring that outsource organisation is effective and reliable firm is also very important. Due to it will cause a number of costs also, hence, make sure that all the money that we have pay is worth enough if compared to the final results is vitally important.

Seeking for new knowledge ..

According to the present circumstances, which especially focused on a business environment, there are a number of alternatives for an organisation to improve as well as develop its own capability. Therefore, seeking or looking for new knowledge that can be gathered from different sources either from your own practice or via technological device. Due to there are also huge range of knowledge out there waiting for you to discovering them. In addition, some people might prefer to discover their new knowledge through their own experiences such as talking with people, learning from class or discovering through direct experience, likewise, some people might prefer to use technological devices such as laptop or smartphone to seeking for new knowledge such as Google or Yahoo search engine, which all these options seem to be equally effective in terms of adding knowledge whereas the differentiation is only depended on reasonable opportunity for applying them in accordance with different situations.

Importantly, focusing on the scope that will fit with an organisational circumstance as well as will be able to enhance organisational performance is essentially important. Due to a number of new knowledges that randomly gathered from the sources even all of them are very useful is seemed to nothing if compared to just one or two new knowledges that well-structed and well-managed that also intensively focused on specific area concerning organisational situation in order to optimise and improve that part effectively. Moreover, reducing costs regarding this practice will be occurred also. Otherwise, numerous negative effects can be taking into account rather than positive outcomes that created by new collected knowledges.

Meanwhile, trying to filtered knowledges that collected from different sources even they are all effective information because they will be some conflicts among them sometimes, so, screening for the best fit and best practice before implementing them into company is important. Again, saving costs is also included within this practice. Furthermore, maintaining and sustaining all those knowledges that gathered from reliable sources in order to long lasting stored them within an enterprise to further developing or optimising them in the future is also vitally important.

Ensuring all securities are prepared !

Basically, every asset contains its own attribute that can be differently generated outcome in different aspects. Also, some may cause a number of benefits and some may not in accordance with organisational performance, especially in engineering and technological fields that require numerous practices that genuinely based on information technology factor. Therefore, in order to keep and sustain those benefits, organisation or even another information technology practitioner needs to emphasise on the aspect of security either virtual or physical factor. Due to there are also various alternatives in order to protect or prevent unwanted factor that aims to reach organisational information and data such as main server or data base.

So, firstly, in terms of virtual security, organisations should aim at how they manage as well as prevent their valuable or secret data away from unwanted person such as external person or people who work with another company to access into their system. For instance, using password or limited access areas to only allowed internal people to get in such as using student ID and password to access into Warwick's library website. In addition, fully protected all essential information from unwanted programs such as virus or spam through the methodology of firewall or anti-virus programs is also important, which also can be done through cyber security practices. Importantly, gradually backing up all important information or files into another device in order to ensure that back-up plan is well-prepared in an emergency event is included.

Then, secondly, the aspects of physical security is another important practice in accordance with organisational security concerning information and data also. Anyway, this practice is very similar in terms of implementation because we are also familiar with this practices in our daily life such as CCTV or reception tasks, which work as a screening machine in order to ensure that everything is normal. For me, personally, I think the physical security is working as a first step of protecting things, then, second or last step is a virtual security, which seems to be more secure.

Lastly, all those practices can be able to apply in the real-life, which a number of success organisation also implement them in accordance with their security aspect. So, trying to sustain all resources that generated by internal within internal, otherwise, various negative effects will be able to emerge in terms of intellectual as well as another property.

Knowledge within an organisation context ..

Due to there are a number of knowledges that mainly generated by personnel within an organisation. Therefore, trying to transfer those knowledges to another either person or department seems to be an excellent practice in relation to improve and develop organisational performance, which internal factor is a root of success basically. However, doing a correct methodology in order to optimise capability of knowledge is another crucial aspect. Thus, managing as well as applying all existing knowledges together with deeply understand the differentiation among them before the process of implementation is extremely important. For instance, understand the significant attributes between data, information, knowledge, understanding as well as wisdon in order to provide effective answer or feedback to specific question is important. For instance, using understanding option to answers the question that start with 'why' or knowledge for the question that begins with 'how'.

In addition, there is a link between all those types of knowledge, which can be improved from data to wisdom through the methodology of gradually understanding concepts between them. So, it means knowledge can be able to improve or enhance in accordance with surrounding environments within a firm that basically depended on personnel factor rather than another factor. Nevertheless, sharing knowledge among people is not an easy practice to do it because there are a number of alternatives to transferring knowledge in effective ways, which some knowledge is also intangible and not easily expressed. Surely, I am talking about explicit and tacit (implicit) knowledge. Anyway, there is a practice that can be linked all those knowledge together in order to share them out to another and that practice is called "The Spiral of Knowledge".

Thus, obviously, all people and organisations will be able to transfer their own knowledge to another if they are preferred to do that because a number of effective methodologies are available for them to deploy. Also, sharing it out instead of keeping them in yours only is one of the most effective practices within a team and company for success because different people are contained different skills and abilities for sure, so, merging all those capacities together before implementation process is one of essential causes for organisational success whether in business or another environment.

Managing facilities in proper ways ..

There are numerous essential practices to effectively managed facilities within organisation, which basically managed by a manager who is called "Facilities Manager" as well as another involved person within that organisation. Therefore, optimising owner's investment in all included aspects seems to be one of the main points concerning this strategy. Due to facilities management or property management is an integral part of a business that requires to be proper used also. In addition, customers engagement is simultaneously included concerning some activities such as design and build activities in order to increase results. So, avoiding negative effects on organisational performance together with creating good working environment are both emerged by the practice of facilities mangement.

Furthermore, this practice can be done through the mothodology of outsourcing as well, which will be able to optimise organisational processes in terms of cost reduction, increase flecibility or even gain the better results. However, this practice is not 100% guaranteed for success whereas ensuring that oursourcing enterprise is well-operated and well-managed its strategies and processes that will suit for our organisational situations is vitally important in order to avoid wasting expenses.

More importantly, containing a person that is called Facilities Manager, which I previously mentioned is essential. Due to there are various management practices to consider such as managing people, premises, services, working environment or resources in order to enhance overall performances within that firm. In my opinion, this type of manager is not only focused on the areas of facilities where as consisting of another mamangement practices such as financial, innovation or strategic business planner aspects are significantly involved. Therefore, reducing unnecessary costs and expenses, meanwhile, increasing reliability and performance that genuinely generated by organisation will be occurred.

Regarding emotional aspects within team and organisation ..

Regardless skills and abilities in terms of vision or strategy that required by every leader in order to improves organisational outcomes, there are some essential factors that also importantly needed by leader, which is not only just a business part within a firm. Due to leader always works within an environment that surrounded by many people that are worked in different fields and departments within a firm. More importantly, group of people who are working within his or her team as well. So, in order to effectively got their best practices with respect to their performance, I think, only effective strategies or methods with respect to some leadership theories or approaches are not enough. Due to people are the most unstable components within a firm regarding thoughts, actions or even operational standards, also, their emotional aspects are vitally included.

Therefore, focusing on followers or another people within a firm in the aspects of emotions, thoughts and feelings is extremely important if that leader aims to get best practices from all followers as well as another person in different department. Due to inconvenience in terms of task or size of workplace can be deferred, which is totally different from inconvenience in terms of emotional aspects referring to the team or leader. Also, the works that made by follower's hearts is completely different from the works that created by their roles and responsibilities only. For instance, additional details or information will be added by workers instead of only completed given tasks by their leader if they are comfortable or pleasure with their team as well as leader. In addition, helping or assisting with each others within a team will be surely occurred, which also included leader and follower as well.

Lastly, for me, personally, I think this issue is not less important than implementing leadership theories or approaches, whereas, there is no official procedures or methodologies in order to implementation with regard to emotional aspects if compared with all leadership approaches, which is quite difficult for some leader. Due to different person contains different characteristics. Also, leadership theories and approaches can be learnt because there are numerous information or guides provided by literatures. In contrast, emotional aspects regarding leader and follower is also provided by some literature but there is no official or correct methodologies for implementation if compared to leadership approaches. Hence, this issue is also important for optimise working atmosphere within a firm, which is not only leadership theories or approaches that required by leader.

Robust Decision Making (Module–Week's reflective blog)

Presently, there are numerous tools and techniques with respect to decision making that provided across the globe. So, selecting incorrect approaches can lead to negative effects or drawbacks. However, choosing the most suitable and appropriate strategy is also not an easy deal because some similarities between them in terms of methodologies or practices are slightly difficult to distinguish. Therefore, subtly reviewed all the tools and techniques in order to find the core characteristics before implementation process is extremely important, which this practice is already provided during the module, especially in the module-week. Specifically, different tools are also suited with different areas of implementation such as marketing or investment aspect. In addition, different information or inputs are taking into account regarding different tools also. More importantly, in order to obtain the most reliable and trustworthy results, for me, personally, I think group discussion and brainstorming are important, which I think is obviously better than one thought. By the way, this module is perfectly provided those practices. In addition, giving new useful and effective ways of how to make a robust decision making that based on reliable tools and techniques are effectively introduced by this module. In practices, regarding case study of WaveRiders seems to be the best representative of this module’s objectives. Due to analysing and defining current circumstances that contain a number of different approaches in order to find the best solutions by deploying and implementing robust decision making tools are all included within the task. In details, analysing costs, risks or possibilities of success are mainly concerned in relation to case study.

Then, the whole approaches of how to create robust decision making within a specific context such as business sector are extremely effective and useful guided by this module, which I think it is the tangible practices that will be able to generate outstanding results with respect to working life, especially for business owners. Due to deciding, analysing and choosing methodologies that will lead to stability as well as certainly concerning applied decision making choices are the holistic frameworks of this module. Regarding tools and techniques, personally, I think decision three seems to be one of the most useful tools of how to make a robust decision making because the tool itself is provided a number of details and information with respect to just one event. Additionally, numerical aspect is also included in terms of costs or expenses. Furthermore, serially analysed step by step in order to find the best solution is also proposed, which I think it is very reliable and useful for real life practices.

Obviously, different groups contain different perspectives concerning the way to implementing tools that can be observed through presentations. So, in my opinion, there is no right or wrong in terms of specifically implemented one tool into one specific event. Due to we cannot define whole details that will be occurred in each event. Also, there are no literatures that provided those types of guidelines. Therefore, subtly reviewing whole circumstances with regard to the issues before selecting tools is important. However, calculating and examining future outcomes are taking into account in order to perceive holistic views of the event, which is possible or not regarding many aspects. Then, I strongly believe that the excellent outcomes will be surely occurred with regard to the successful implementation of robust decision making tools whether in business or another context.

Building a strong basis before moving to another step ..

Improving organisational performance can be occurred by every organisation who aims to improve or change its patterns whether internal or external factor. Also, plenty of elements are required in order to make some changes or improvements. Hence, understanding current situations of an organisation before moving into the next step as well as containing clear visions and plans with respect to future are both extremely important regarding organisational success. Due to both components are all compulsory for an organisation, especially for management level. Perceiving those practices is essential for executive in order to passed down to the bottom-line regarding change or improvement methods. So, perceiving overall circumstances of organisation for both internal and external factor is extremely important before organisational change or improvement in all perspectives.

Then, measuring, analysing or evaluating organisational status before implementing change seems to be the good practices. Due to these factor will be able to let an organisation perceives its status that will lead to suitable and appropriate strategies or approaches for implementation, which will generate excellent outcomes if compared to an organisation that does not get through those practices. Obviously, numerous approaches and strategies are all available in the middle of the market that can be generated both good and bad results, which all depended on suitability of the deploying organisations. Otherwise, numerous drawbacks or negative effects can be occurred with respect to wrong or ineffective strategies implementation. However, well-managed and well-prepared regarding current status of an organisation together with obtained effective theories and approaches for implementation will be able to create best outcomes surely.

Lastly, for me, personally, determining every single component as much as the firm can before implementing new strategies or approaches in order to achieve success is very important for an organisation, which focused on internal factor. Also, ensure that everything is right on track before strat new process is significantly included. Otherwise, lacking preparation that will be able to lead to negative results can be occurred, which numerous organisations are already faced with. So, trying to follow those provided steps in order to aviod from drawbacks is compulsory for organisational success, especially when new strategies or approaches is taking into account.

Changing them rather than firing them !

Within an organisation, there are numerous employees who are working with respect to organisational objectives. Of course, separately personnel into many different departments such as marketing, human resource management or accounting in order to simultaneously drive an organisation forward is seemed to be the most effective structures in every organisation, especially for hugh organisaion. However, over-staffed is also one of the major problems with respect to organisational structure in terms of personnel. Also, some organisations decide to fire them out referring to their performance whereas some organisations are decided to providing them a chance via coaching before firing them, which totally depended on executive's decisions.

In addition, different people contain different personal background in terms of knowledge, which directly impacted performance within firm. Alternatively, transferring or moving them into another department via coaching or teaching by experts within an organisation with respect to their willingness mainly. So, possibly, establishing quality personnel instead of firing them can be occurred. Also, in reality, numerous people realise that what they are good at regarding works while they are working rather than studying, so, those kinds of problems can be occurred. Hence, provided coaching from leaders or managers can be another option in order to optimise their performance. Due to employees are willing to learn rather than find a new job, if an organisation that they are working with is good enough in terms of emotional aspect regarding employees. Also, some people are not always good at what they have learnt in accordance with their working positions. Hence, providing chance to them instead of firing them is quite important.

Lastly, providing chance rather than firing employees is extremely important with respect to emotional aspect within an organisation, also, encouraging others who are in the same situations is included. Personally, I strongly believe that second chance is important for our human being, especially for working environment. Whereas, removing person who is not willing to improve is also taking into account. Hence, containing quality workers will be surely occurred within that organisation.
