Business Link Online Guides – B2B Centre Seal of Approval?

Writing about web page http://www.businesslink.gov.uk

We have always pointed people at the advice pages on the Business Link website - they are very good. It's just that now we have a little more reason to highlight the content...because we have helped to develop it.

You will find that many of the ebusiness related pages (such as the search engine optimisation section) have the B2B Centre logo at the bottom.   We have been supporting Business Link as content reviewers and developers for some time now so we are naturally delighted that our name is now becoming so widely recognised.

Twitter Hash Tag for the eBusiness Conference 2009

Writing about web page http://www.twitter.com/b2b_centre

We have set up a Twitter Hash Tag so that you can remain up to date on news about the eBusiness Conference on September 17th.

The Tag is #ebiz09 - to use it then enter the tag in the search field on your Twitter home page (it is on the right hand side of the screen).  This should result in a list of eBusiness Conference Tweets appearing in the main part of the screen.

You will see an option to  "Save This Search". Click the link and the tag will appear under the heading "saved searches" on the right hand side of the screen.

We will be using Twitter to talk about what's happening at the Conference: before, during and after.

E–Business Conference 2009: Finding and Keeping Profitable Customers

Writing about web page http://www.nb2bc.co.uk/events/?id=313

"E-Business Conference 2009: Finding and Keeping Profitable Customers" is the National B2B Centre's 2nd annual conference looking at how technology can positively impact SME business activity.

As the title suggests this year's conference is focused on winning business both from new customers AND existing clients.  We'll be exploring the use of the web, Social Media, eMail and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) to help this process as well as thinking about what sales processes and techniques will work best for small businesses.

We have some great speakers lined up including Susan Hallam, Dr Dave Chaffey and Richard White.  There will also be some very interesting case studies from B2B Centre clients and some expert sessions from the B2B Centre team.

Last year was extremely popular and we are expecting even more interest this time around - so book now!

B2B Web Workshop – 18th June

Writing about web page http://www.nb2bc.co.uk

Gareth Edwards, eMarketing specialist and Steve Orriss, lead e-business consultant led yesterdays Web Workshop.

Delegates enjoyed the first session, website reviewing.  In turn each delegate if they wish to agrees to put there website on our interactive screen for all to see.  Delegates provide feedback on the general look and feel of the site and our consultants provide an indepth review of the content, keywords, how well it's ranked and things to consider.  This benefits the owner as it provides constructive feedback from a usability point of view from both parties and also provides an seo perspective.

One of the hot topics in the world of Web 2.0 and the B2B Centre's workshops is using social media sites.   Social media sites allow your business to be more visable to search engines and web users.  In our workshop we provide information and talk about the potentail opportunities out there to start collaborating, some of the benefits include sharing ideas/ knowledge about your expertise, posting questions, making new contacts, finding new customers.

Our consultants provide an overview of the most common sites used by businesses and provides information into which sites would be most effective for your business.

The following delegates attended:

National Back2Back Centre?

We have had a change of name (apparently) at the West Midlands IT Solutions Showcase! (We are still here as this blog is written).

Plenty of interest from visitors to the event and a good chance to meet colleagues from other support organisations and some new contacts from the supplier community.

The bizarre thing is that, according to the event announcer, we have had a change of name. We are now the National Back2Back Centre. What we would be interested to find out is what or who we are back to back with - hopefully only with the needs of our members.

Martin
