T minus 4 days and counting…

Hmmm… going to get a house on Friday…

I will be a property owner…
I will have gained that invaluable first rung on the property ladder…
I will have a place to call my own and to do with as I please…
I will forever more have to work to survive and stay solvent…
I will be £83,000 in debt…

Bugger!

  1. Only £83,000! Wow, I'm £107.000 and still studenting. Do you have
    a) a small house
    b) a big deposit?

  2. Small house :-) Though its not that small really (gotta keep chanting that to myself). 3 bedroom (box room isn't really very boxy though, it has been extended into one of the other rooms). Going to rent a room to a mate at work to help supplement my income for mortgage and stuff.
Think the main thing that kept the price down was the fact that it is in Canley (shudder) and the guy who was selling didn't actually live there but rented it out and think he was just after a quick sale.

Ah well, can't complain too much – just gotta keep thinking it is a step in the right direction for when I start to earn my millions. Am just looking forward to decorating it this summer, everything must go!

  3. Lol, sounds like my last summer. I was sick of painting and flat pack furniture by the end of it! This summer I'm doing the garden – I'm already well fed up of weeding.
I'm also in a three bedroom and the box is very boxy. But I'm in Tile Hill (the Canley end) which seems to make a fairly big difference to price.

  4. Yeah, for me it was definitely a case of Tile Hill or Canley. I work near Knowle (and obviously couldn't afford a cardboard box anywhere near there) so those two were the closest.
I'm quite looking forward to decorating at the minute, though I am sure the novelty will wear off very quickly! Managed to rope in lots of help though so isn't all bad… What they don't realise is that I'm at work during the day and I expect them to carry on working ;-) Lots of trust there!
