Video: Meat Loaf – It's All Coming Back To Me Now

Follow-up to Free Mp3: Meat Loaf – Monster's Loose from Andy's Dumb Ramblings

I’d argue that this isn’t a cover, because the song was originally by Jim Steinman who writes most of Meat Loaf’s songs anyway. Anywho this is a video from the new album “Bat Out Of Hell 3: The Monster Is Loose” that comes out at the end of October.

It’s an impressive video, not because of any crazy technical voodoo, but because of the emotion on display, it’s something we don’t often see in modern music videos.

Been a while, easy choice though.

Sonata Arctica - The Misery

Rarely has one song made me decide to buy an entire album, this song did though. It's a ballad (not a power ballad, just a ballad) and Sonata Arctica do ballads very well. The vocals are soft and melodic and considering the song isn't based on any particular events in the band members' lives (or so i'm led to believe) it also sound exceptionally emotional. The instrumental melody is mostly simple arpeggiated chord shapes on guitar, this isn't a technical song at all. There is a simple lead guitar line towards the end that is well-placed and fits the song perfectly. Beautiful song.

Andy's Top 10 Songs In No Particular Order #1 – Tallulah

I haven't figured out what my top 10 songs are yet, but this is definitely one of them:

Sonata Arctica - Tallulah

It's a ballad, most of my favourite songs are ballads. It's my opinion that the quality of a band's ballads is what really defines them. Tallulah always sends chills down my spine, the lyrics have real meaning to them. The song is a guy singing about breaking up with his girlfriend due to another guy, which naturally sounds cliché but it works wonderfully well. It's piano-driven, with a gentle guitar solo towards the end.

Line of Choice: "I hope your wish came true, mine betrayed me"
