Leicester Tigers 17 - London Wasps 22
It promised to be a good game, it should have been a good game, but once again Andy Goode failed to turn up. This of course comes just days after he resigned for Tigers for an extortionate amount of money. My only hope is for the new signing of Paul Burke, from Munster, will prove dividends because at this point in time there is nobody to replace fatboy Goode.
At the end of the first half it was looking a lot more promising as Tom Varndell received the perfect pass, after Austin Healey punted a cheeky kick over the top.
A blatant interception by Staunton should have been a yellow if not a penalty try, but once again Wasps appeared to have the referee in their pocket.
As for the number 8 debate, and despite everything the papers say, Corry still made his mark, and rather more importantly was the better leader that day. Andy Robinson should be shot for taking Corry off last Saturday, as I'm sure every England player would agree that Corry has earnt almost the same level of respect as Martin Johnson. Florence Dallaglio will always be second choice.
