Is this the most boring Wimbledon ever?
Really. No British interest after the second day. No competition in the men’s tournament because the identity of the winner was known 51 weeks ago. No play for three quarters of each day because it’s always raining. No five set matches finishing 19-17 in the fifth with both competitors drenched in sweat. No real upsets of the recognised pecking order. No timeless classic appearing in the tournament for the twentieth time.
Honestly, if I weren’t so sports-orientated, it would be easy to overlook the fact that it was happening this year at all.

It’s a town in south west London. Postal code SW19.

It’s a bit disheartening because of the rain, especially when you get weaker players (Bartoli) recovering during suspended play, then going on to win the match.
If it’s Nadal vs Federer in the final, maybe Nadal will get lucky, but yes—it’s doubtful.
Gonzalez vs Tipsarevic was pretty good, even though the match was stop-start because of rain. Compared to the Serbians, Britain has a lot of catching up to do.

And compared to everyone else as well, for that matter!

I missed all the finals except the last set and a half of the mixed doubles.
I think I picked the right one. :)
