Harry Potter

Everyone on the Tube is reading it. I mean everyone! What’s the big deal? It’s only a book isn’t it?

I agree! I get a bit annoyed when people are surprised I haven’t read any of the Harry Potters and yet read a fair bit. Although HP isn’t something I’d read, it’s been beneficial in improving literacy and getting young people into reading – so it must be a good thing.

  3. Like my housemate last night: “You sad man… reading that. I haven’t read any!”

“Good for you… I used to think similar, but they’re actually well written, entertaining and get very dark after the initial couple of “children’s books”.”

So there. But yes, it’s only a book. And I don’t believe them to be literary classics, just very very entertaining.
