Am I getting too old for drum and bass?

Or dance music in general for that matter? Or just the entire “clubbing scene” if you want to call it that. It seems that every time I indulge in some, it seems like more and more of a “student scene”; a flashback of the life I used to live before I got a job. And I am incrementally becoming more and more detached from that scene, as though I know deep down that my genuine place now lives elsewhere.

Hmm, I wonder.

There’s no way you’re too old for it! Think that everyone who goes to clubs makes themselves look younger than they are and besides, you’re only as old as you feel and I can’t imagine you feel that old! I think that there needs to be a bit of a get together at Global Gathering or Cream or somewhere else (seem to remember there’s something in Latvia this summer that looked good).

I think the clubbing scene has bedome quite interesting in recent years, especially with drum and bass. Theres more and more of a split scene, with jump-up/mainstream followers and breaks/atmospheric/drumfunk followers. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it will never be what it used to be say in 95!

I find myself buying less and less new dnb music, instead just updating my back catalogue and find myself going to less clubs/raves solely because nights are now orientated to one style e.g. liquid or jump up or drumfunk.
