Should DIE HARD just die?
- A Good Day to Die Hard
The original 'Die Hard' was a film about an off duty cop who stumbled onto a criminal operation. A group of terrorists, led by Hans Gruber, were holding everyone in the building a hostage. How can the same stuff happen to the same guy four more times? The film makes me sad because it reminds me how much older Bruce Willis is now, compared to when he started.
'A Good Day to Die Hard' is the fifth instalment of the Die Hard film series. I was not surprised that there was no original plot. It was just one long, fierce chase around Moscow to Chernobyl. The subplot of John McClane's relationship with his son is similar to his relationship with his daughter in the fourth film of the Die Hard franchise 'Live Free or Die Hard'. Yuri Komarov being the true antagonist was a bit of a twist but there really needs to be a better explanation of how he manipulated everyone. It was unrealistic how John McClane survived after smashing through windows at high speed, falling through floor after floor of scaffolding and getting whipped around in a helicopter like a ragdoll.
