In my previous course I tended to learn by attending the lectures, tutes and labs, reading the reccommended texts and then clearing up anything I didn't understand with further reading. I think the main flaw in the way I learn is having to understand a particular topic completely, which can lead me to spend a lot of time going deeper than I need into a subject. In consideration of what was said on Wednesday I think that this could be seen as a good thing. However, in this course we have so much information to learn I think there is a danger that I will find myself tempted to go overboard on the topics I find very interesting leaving limited time to cover all the other material. The main challenge for me will be to maintain focus on the whole course and motivate myself to study the topics I find less interesting when I would rather explore other areas.
