Partying and knowledge transfer!

Just reminded of an example quoted by Graeme (I think) during PIUSS..

Some organization, i think Rolls Royce (some high class luxury car manufacturer)  chose 5 of there employees , gave them a huge sum of money each (dont remember the exact sum) and asked them to spend lavishly.

What these employees would do is spend all the money partying and in expensive lounges, where a sample of their target customers would be, gather information and send it back to their centre.

Tacit knowledge transfer!

All that amount spent is nothing but an investment to gather tacit knowledge is'nt it? Crazzy ideas to collect tacit knowledge!

  1. Can’t remember who said it but it was about Toyota that they gave each of 5 employees 1kk dollars (I guess) to go to the USA and explore the market, as Toyota wanted to set up their branch (Lexus) for manufacturing luxury cars in the USA. ;)

  3. Marcin i think it was Paul at CBE module. . . . . . . .They were lucky people. .. .. . However i think that we can generalize that and say if you do not having fun in what you do you never learn and probably you never do it right. . .. I like having fun and i strongly belive that we take our lives to serious. . . . At the end of the day life is too short to be serious. . . .Enjoy…...........
