Moving ahead to the end part of PMA.

Follow-up to Continuous Improvement & Management of change from Akshay's blog

It was really good experience while doing PMA. Learned a lot of things basics from how to search library catalog to referencing. I came across so many things, which are totally new for me. When I started working on assignment I didn’t know what I am going to write and how it will look like, but as I started writing and searching books related to topic unconsciously interest was created, and I started searching more and more information about the subject.

As I mentioned I searched a lot of things so at the end it went difficult for me to compress all those words in 3000 words, but I think I did well, lets hope for the best. The last part of the assignment was about how EFQM helps to drive continuous improvement. There are so many things which shows that the EFQM really helps to drive continuous improvement as it has is a holistic approach of self-assessment. The main nine criteria’s of model tells us all about the process and how to categories them in an appropriate way.

Continuous improvement and communication

I am talking more about continuous improvement as I am going through PMA I am learning new things every day. There are lots of things, which I didn’t thought about are related to continuous improvement. According to me four weeks and 3000 word limit constraint is contradicts each other as I am going through PMA either we need more time to analysis and present our findings in 3000 words or word limit has to be more than 3000 so that we can explain our analysis in proper way.

Continuous improvement is wider concept and years on years went still it has great power of implication and many giant organisations are implementing this method to achieve sustainable improvement. As I said in previous blog Management of change is important aspect of continuous improvement in the same way communication is also very vital part of improvement process. Communication has to be open and from all level as upward to downward and vice a versa. If communication is good that solves many problems of the organisation.

How communication helps continuous improvement. The benefits are tangible and intangible. As if communication is good then one part of organisation if achieves something that can be passed through other departments of organisation so that everyone can implement improved process. Intangible benefits may include more effective teamwork, job satisfaction and other. As continuous improvement is never ending process so every time there is a scope for further improve.

Continuous Improvement & Management of change

First I thought what should be done to create an organisation where continuous improvement is a way of life, then I realise the main factor which involves in this change process is people. We need to concentrate on people more than anything else, as they are key drivers of change. We can chose best approach for change process, we also can invest more on implementing that approach but if the people are not ready to change then whole plan go wrong. It is fact that most of us resist to change so the solution for this is management for change. The manager who is responsible of bringing change and creating awareness of change by motivating and promoting people.

Change is necessary for every organisation so management of change tell us that how to prepare for change. This theory of change tells us hoe to understand behaviours of individuals towards change and how to convince them in a positive way what will help to bring continuous improvement.

My first Presentation On Measurement of results.

I gave my 1st presentation that was on measurement of results. I learned a lot while presetting because first time in my life I worked In a group and I understood the importance of working together in a group. I want to thanks all my group members for supporting me.

My 1st module finished but I learned a lot in two weeks of my business excellence module. This module thought me a lot how to measure results and how to assess our self. Assessing our self is best way to improve yourself. What I learned differently other than business excellence is how to assess our work and how to overcome barriers and work on our areas of improvement. This technique of assessing our self is itself very powerful, because you only know your strengths and areas of improvements. And we all are preparing to become a CEO, an entrepreneur or high level manager so at this level know one will asses you daily. So it is very important to assess yourself and improve.
