Demings Imperial Leader

I quite agree with Team 3 when they say that Deming's Prize leader is Imperial. One must understand that he/she is expected to have profound knowledge. For example he is probably the only one who knows the entire system, understands variation, knowz the psychology of the workers so he is the only one who can guide. Understand he is not a dictator but just the person in charge......if you see the difference........

  1. After hearing Paul’s comment on Toyota executives working on the factory floor with rest of the employees, I wasn’t so sure “imperial leader” was the correct description anymore. You are right about CEO’s need to have Profound Knowledge, but what’s stopping second tier managers or even all employees acquiring an understanding of Profound Knowledge? It would still be an excellent organisation and would your meaning of “imperial leader” still applies?

  2. Well, I wrote a lot about that in my blog. I`m under the impression that the whole discussion goes really around the meaning of the word ”ïmperial”
