Alex Parks – Honesty (2005)

Title:
Honesty
Rating:
5 out of 5 stars
December 2003 – 19 year old Alex Parks won Fame Academy. Released 'Introduction' and released two hit singles 'Maybe Thats What It Takes' and 'Cry.' After a long break away from the music industry she came back in October 2005 with 'Honesty.' 'Although failing to set the charts on fire Honesty is one of my all time favourite albums dealing with issues such as bitterness, depression, deciet, unrequieted love, break ups and honesty. Heres my track by track appreciation of the album…
1.) LIE - The opening track is a direct paradox to the title of the album. A very angsty song about not knowing who someone that you love and care for is anymore. Sometimes we want to be lied to because we fear the truth. This is what this songs about.
2.)OUT OF TOUCH - A very mellow and relaxing tune. Its about wanting something and being close to it but just not being able to reach or understand it. A very dream like song.
3.) LOOKING FOR WATER - The download only single. One of the best songs ever concieved. I remember the first time I heard this song, it had such a huge effect upon me. Its about two things. Firstly, dealing with depression and the struggles that life puts us to, "some days are harder than others, mountains we climb to get things done". Its kind of like not wanting to face the outside world. Also its about being in a relationship that was one fulfilling but now empty. the realisation that somethings gone. Sometimes we stay in a relationship because were afraid of being alone and the alternatives, but its better to b alone than unhappy. Its hard but u can do it. Um yeah, thats what the songs about. Check out the vidieo. Fantastic and she looks hot as in it!
