Starting a conversation with a Fresher!

It's Tuesday and the first Revelation rehearsal with lots of new members!

I'm really excited that there will be people that I've never met before to talk to. However, I'm really bored of the 'basic' Fresher questions, i.e:

• What course are you doing?
• What halls are you in?
• Where do you come from?
• How are you finding Warwick?

Followed by:

• I bet you're fed up of answering these questions, aren't you? (cue nervous/polite laughter from some / all people in the conversation)

So I was wondering if anyone else (esp. Freshers fed up of answering the same questions) had some novel ideas to strike up conversations with people….

Revelation in the Arts Centre

Yay!!!! Term's started again and all the students are back :) No, I'm not being sarcastic – I'm really excited as it means that I can sing with Revelation again!!!

We're going to be singing in the Arts Centre (outside the cinemas) between 1 and 2pm today.

We've only had one rehearsal (yesterday) so don't expect perfection, just a load of people in brightly coloured T-shirts having a laugh and trying to sing the right tune at the right time!

RESITS in Edinburgh

I've just uploaded some photos from my trip to Edinburgh.

For those a bit confused about the title 'RESITS' and the photos of a choir I think I'd better explain:

RESITS stands for "Revelation in Edinburgh Singing In The Sun".

Revelation is a network of Rock-Gospel choirs based in Universities around the UK, Italy and the Czech Republic.

Every year members of the different choirs meet up in Edinburgh to sing at the Fringe and sleep on a church floor for a week (a cheap option for students!)

Hopefully now the seemingly random photos of a church and orange people in Costa Coffee make sense…

Revelation is one of my passions so I'll be writing more about it as time goes by…although if you're really interested here is the link to Warwick Revelation's website.
