A vague attempt at Market Research

Warwick Skills have been running skills courses for postgraduates this term, and so far the number of people signed up for the courses has been almost double the number of students who actually turn up.

For information purposes:

• Courses are run at 10am on Saturday mornings
• We use an online sign-up form (with confirmation email) reminding students to cancel if they are not able to attend
• There are free drinks and snacks
• Feedback from all courses run so far has been postive

Does anyone have any ideas why so many students are not bothering to turn up this year?
Does anyone have any ideas for counteracting the problem for next term's courses?

Being a person who is allergic to alcohol, adverts about beer usually don't appeal to me, but this Australian one (pointed out to me by Kay) is fab:

Question: Does anyone remember an advert with squirrels on a garden assault course? (It was probably aired about 10 years ago)...was that a beer advert too?
