Who said it's a small world after all?? (9% has been Asti–fied :p )
Writing about web page http://douweosinga.com/projects/visitedcountries
just found this link from another post in the Warwick blog.. I can't believe I've only been to 9% of the world! and I've actually visited 21 countries (yes i keep count... and one of them was actually Hong Kong pre hand-over, so I decided that I have visited today's China! is that cheating as I haven't actually been anywhere on "mainland" China) sigh still a looong way to go to travel 50% of the world then
not that I'm complaining! I absolutely love travelling, except for the "getting-there" part. It takes me 18 hours of pure flying time just to get home from here. If you add the transit, packing and transfer to and from the airport, then it's about 24 hours.. add a 7 or 8 hours difference (depending on the time of the year) and you've got a very cranky me! small tho I mite be, I've been told the jet-lagged version of me is a force not to be reckoned with!
anyways, here's the map of the countries I've been to..
create your own visited countries map
not very much I've realized.. a few years ago, my goal was to have travelled 20 countries by the time I turn 20. Alas, I couldn't reach that goal so I extended my deadline to 20 countries when I'm 20, i.e. before I turn 21. and yay! I had been to 21 countries by the time I turned 21!
Next goal: 30 countries by my 3oth birthday. Watch out world, here I come! Jet-lag and all…
If you don't like the 'getting there' part, try moving by boat, car and/or train. Makes it much more interesting!

I absolutely agree with you! I think trains and cars are my two fav mode of transportation, nothing beats a few friends, a car, and absolute freedom to roam around :)
Just too bad that for travels of a certain distance or between certain countries, road transport is either impossibly long or just simply impossible..
but hey, I'm still thankful for airplanes, I wouldn't be here studying otherwise as it will take me a good year (!) just to come here!

That sounds like such a cool aim in life…. Maybe I should be more adventurous I only ever seem to go to the same places or nowhere at all :(
