6:49 am, why am i still awake?

its 6:49 am.. well, duh, i guess you would know that from reading the title

I have not slept at all…This is the second night in a row I've done this. Not good, I tell you. Waking up at 1 or 2 pm is not a good start to your day, or what's left of it. I just ended up feeling lethargic and hence will not do any work for the rest of the day.

I need to stop doing this. Starting now. Sleep, Asti, I tell you, sleep.

PS: Ramadhan Mubarak to you Moslems out there. This is one of the reasons why I stay up till weird hours. I don't feel sleepy till around 3 am, and so I just ended up staying up till the morning for sahor and fajr. Not good, not good at all ;)

  1. In my (limited) experience the only way out of this is to give yourself the shock treatment – don't go to bed till you're tired, but then get up after 3 hours' sleep (maybe around 8 or 9am). Force yourself to stay awake for the whole day then go to bed around 9 or 10pm and then get up at 8.30 or 9am. Then strictly keep to 8 hours' sleep for the next few days and you'll be fine. It's just you'll feel awful on the first day or two.

    Oh yeah, and be strict about eating at the correct times as well. This is important for sorting your body clock out.

    Drinking water and exercise can also help.

  2. Thanx for the advice. That was the plan before I went to sleep, but, uhm… it didnt work, ended up waking up at 1 pm. woke up at 9 to turn off the alarm, but i guess my will just wasn't strong enough and my bed was just way way way too comfortable (yeah that's it, i blame the bed! ;)

    Will try it again tonight. Wish me luck :)

  3. Hehe, good luck. Try putting your alarm somewhere where you can't reach it from bed :)

    Oh and read a book before you sleep. I'm chewing my way through War and Peace at the moment…
