From Keywords to Concept – Climategate

First, a popular keywords nowadays: Climategate - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climatic_Research_Unit_e-mail_hacking_incident

Yes, yes, it is the east englia univerisity's email hack. What I am after is a bit behind the scene: there were 2 scientists on BBC news last weekend: one of them claimed that such research has become "failed science", and the other tried to make believe that CO2 warms up the globe by highlighting how much data we have got. Seems to me they were a bit lost about being academics.

My research is about generating keywords for a concept, so I collected some keywords for this:

climategate, emission trading, leaked documents, Climatologists, their backlash, Mainstream science, newspapers, Copenhagen conference.

Now it doesn't look like a scientific problem or honesty problem, or internet crime. This "incident" happened to the right people on the right topic at the right time, and attracted the right audience. it seems more like a political game now, but the question is: who have the console controllers???
